MUSIC IS LARGER THAN LIFE!!

August 22nd 2013: online, at last. It took some time, I did not want to start with an empty website. But bringing you the first examples of my introductions is a lot of work. At the start you can enjoy:

  • Bruckner: symphonie nr. 4

  • Holst: several short pieces

  • Krenek: symphonie nr. 1

  • Moeran: symphonie (his only!)

  • Nielsen: symphonie nr. 1

  • Reich: Tehellim and other minimal music

  • Schumann: symphonie nr. 3

  • Sibelius: symphonie nr. 7

  • Strings: famous serenades and suites

I also start with bringing you links to music you can download from the web. There is much to discover and to enjoy.

A simple Credo that says it al. Classical music is to enjoy, to experience. We feel the joy, the pain, the sadness of life when listening to good music. And which music is good? For you to decide, for me it is “classical” music. This ranges from the year 1400 until today. And there is so much to enjoy, so much to discover. But when I look at the websites and blogs about this music it is either review of recordings, or a description of the life of the composer at a given time, or a thorough musical analysis. And to be frankly honest, none of them are really interesting to me. I am a listener, I enjoy listening. I do not search for a complex analyses showing the development of a work. I want to feel how it developes, I want to hear the music and feel my mind responding to it.

I am looking for the IT moment, now IT happens.

And I want you to have an easy access to it so I do what never is allowed:  give you extracts, highlights of the music I want to share with you.
